Sea Kayaking Experiences
Glide with the Tide Experience £89pp (3hrs)
Dates are available to book online with no minimum number or you can book you own private sea kayaking and food tour at a time to suit you (3hrs) from £89pp for a minimum two people. A unique way to discover a beautiful marine environment and its riches. Taking out a kayak is an amazing way to explore Strangford Lough. Down at water level, you are in tune with the tides, the outdoors, the sea.
Gliding softly along brings you closer to the lough’s wildlife, including seals and wild geese. If you are lucky in the morning you may encounter otters. Beginners are in safe hands with John Hubbucks, a kayak expert who has taught many people, of all abilities, to paddle. He also knows Strangford Lough intimately and can help you explore its crystal-clear water, islands and inlets. To top it all, he is a trained chef and, if the tide and season is right, he will take you foraging for mussels which you can cook together and enjoy with a local Irish whiskey cream sauce.
In summer months when you can’t gather mussels you can still enjoy an amazing Irish Smorgasbord with some of the finest foods from local Strangford producers.
Island Explorer Experience from £50pp (3hrs)
Either book online for a specific date with a maximum 6 people per group or book your own private group (3hrs) £75pp minimum 2 people. You choose which direction and islands to explore.
Explore stunning Strangford Lough, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, from a unique perspective with 115 miles of coastline and an Island to explore for everyday of the year, an immersive experience never to be forgotten. Trips are also available on the very easily accessible Belfast Lough or, as a mobile company, we can offer kayaking anywhere in Northern Ireland – on sea or inland waters.
Escorted by one of our qualified, experienced guides who will be happy to coach the most nervous beginners or challenge the experienced paddler, tell us what you would like for your own bespoke, relaxing or exhilarating session or join a group and meet some locals.
On the day your guide will help you to explore with local knowledge and skills to share. On Strangford Lough, you could pass the old oyster farm on Sketrick Island, see the Ballydorn Light Ship up close, paddle through the fast currents at Daft Eddies, or the tidal flows at the Narrows. Watch the wildlife – through the changing seasons look out for seal pups or Brent geese and take time to explore some of the many islands or stop for a bite to eat. You might even want to try your hand at fishing.
You will have great craic, viewing lots of local history and listening to the wildlife.

What to expect
Normally meeting at Whiterock Killinchy, Northern Ireland at 6.30pm for our evening sessions, enjoy a relaxing paddle on the beautiful Strangford Lough for roughly 2 – 3 hours of paddling depending on weather conditions.
All equipment is provided; individuals will need to wear warm comfortable clothing, and suitable footwear that may get wet. Bring a change of clothes with you, just in case. A windproof jacket is recommended, as it can get very windy and cold on the water. We do not recommend wetsuits as they can be restrictive, unless you plan on lots of swimming!
A sea kayak is a kayak developed for the sport of paddling on open waters of lakes, bays, and the ocean. They trade off the extreme maneuverability of whitewater kayaks for cargo capacity, ease of straight-line paddling, and comfort for long journeys. Sea kayaks can accommodate paddlers together with room for camping gear, food, water, and other supplies. Our single Pyranha Sea Kayaks do not have rudders but do have a skeg, we’ll teach you all about this when we meet.
With Mobile Team Adventure you can decide on the type of Sea Kayaking Experience that suits you, whether you want to spend a day on one of the Canoe Trails or a weekend combining it with other activities – it’s your choice! We bring adventure to YOU!
