Shawsbridge is the ideal location for kayaking and canoeing just outside Belfast.
Directions: Shaw's Bridge is on Belfast's outer ring road.
To get to Shaw's Bridge from Knock, take the outer ring road past Forestside Shopping centre, follow the signs for the M2 motorway. Turn left about 100 yards after the bridge over the river into the small public car park.
To get to Shaw's Bridge from the roundabout at the House Of Sport at the top of the Malone Road, join the outer ring, and take the second turn off on the right, before you get to the river.

The Jungle is set in 200 acres of enchanted woodland surrounded by waterfalls, lakes and streams.
Directions: Take the A29 out of Desertmartin towards Moneymore and the Jungle is on the right after 4 miles.
Facilities: Large sheltered picnic area, toilets, snack bar, hot tubs, showers, BBQ facilities, changing area.

A nature reserve with an artificial lake, surrounding fen and mixed woodland, providing a great variety of wildlife.
Directions: Take the B122 north out of Fivemiletown and turn right after 0.5 miles at the gatehouse leading into the estate.

Childhaven overlooks a pebbled beach and the Irish Sea. Surrounded by the lush green countryside with seashore walks and rock pools close by, Childhaven is in a serene and idyllic setting and provides a peaceful haven away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Directions: Follow the A2 from Millisle towards Donaghadee for 0.5 miles, Childhaven is on the left.
Facilities: residential accommodation for up to forty people, two conference rooms, five syndicate rooms, multi purpose recreation rooms.

Situated at the foot of the Sperrin Mountains, the centre provides an excellent residential base for anyone visiting the local area
Directions: Follow the B40 from Desertmartin towards Draperstown for 2.4 miles and follow the brown “Kilcronaghan Activity and Conference Centre" sign pointing right.
Facilities: Conference room, kitchen, toilets, offices, accommodation, large grassed play area, games room.

Castlewellan Forest Park encompasses 450ha of land lying to the north of the Mourne Mountains, and includes a lake, historic castle, Peace Maze, extensive National Arboretum and walled garden.
Directions: From Castlewellan the forest is signposted from the Main Street.
Facilities: Car park, Coffee House, Exhibition Area, Toilets/Showers.

Tollymore Forest Park

Covering an area of almost 630 hectares at the foot of the Mourne mountains, the forest park offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the sea at nearby Newcastle, while within its own boundaries are many splendid vistas of woodland and rivers.
Directions: From Belfast, take the A24 south to Clough Village, then join the A2 Newcastle Road. Before entering Newcastle on the A2, turn right at the roundabout on to the A50, signed Castlewellan. After approximately two miles turn left onto the B180 signed Tollymore Forest Park and follow signs to the park and caravan site.
Facilities: Car park, Toilets, Showers, Picnic Areas.
